Website Content with AI: How We Solved the Blank Page Problem

11 Ağustos 2026

There's a familiar pattern in website projects: the design is done, the technical setup is done, and then the project sits "waiting on copy" for months.

The reason isn't laziness. Writing a paragraph about your own business is harder than it sounds. A dentist can explain a treatment in detail but has no idea what to put under an "About Us" heading. A blank form field turns into a writing exam, and most people choose to put that exam off.

That's why we added AI-assisted content generation to IconWebly's demo creation flow.

How does it work?

We ask for three pieces of information: business name, sector, and, if you'd like, a few sentences of your own notes. The notes field isn't required, but it noticeably improves the result — even a sentence like "we focus on pediatric patients" or "mostly commercial law" changes the tone of the output.

From that information, the system generates:

  • A hero eyebrow, headline, subheading, and button text
  • A headline and two paragraphs for the "About Us" section
  • A 4-6 item list of services, practice areas, or programs based on your sector, each with a short description and duration/measure where relevant
  • A browser tab title and a search-result description

The result appears as a ready-to-view site within seconds. Any sentence you want to change is editable from the panel.

The limits we put on the model

This is where the real engineering work is. An unconstrained language model makes two typical mistakes when writing business copy, and both are harmful.

Fabricating concrete claims

To make the text sound convincing, a model will invent a founding year, a patient count, an award, a certification, an address, a price. "We've served over 10,000 patients since 2005" reads nicely, but it's not true — and once that sentence goes live on your site, the responsibility for it is yours.

So we give the model an explicit instruction: no founding year, no patient or customer count, no award, no certification, no address, no phone number, no price. You're the only one who enters this information, because you're the only one who actually knows it.

Marketing hype

The second mistake is phrases like "industry leader," "world's best," "unmatched experience." These phrases both undermine credibility and run into regulatory trouble in fields like healthcare and law. The instruction bans these too.

What's left is a plain, explanatory, hype-free tone — which is where we stand as a company.

Why not "generate and forget"?

The generated text is a starting point, not a finished product. Filling in a blank page becomes a far easier task than staring at one — editing ready-made text is much faster than writing from scratch.

Our recommendation is to go in this order: read the generated text start to finish, change every sentence that isn't genuinely yours, and add your real details (year, team, equipment, address) yourself. That twenty-minute pass is what makes the site actually sound like you.

Against abuse

The feature is usable without signing up, and that comes with a responsibility. We put an hourly and daily generation limit per IP, plus a platform-wide daily cap. The goal is to keep the feature standing for people who genuinely want to build a site.

Try it

From the demo page, enter your business name and sector and you can see a site built in your name within seconds. No sign-up, no card details required. If you like it, create an account and continue on the same site.
